How is language shaping how you think (and training your kids how to think)

I shared this video a year ago today on Facebook and it just popped up on my memories. Which is creepy, since I was JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS to people again.

When I saw this video my mind was blown. It never occurred to me that other languages didn't blame people (or that English was). It never occurred to me that language may be driving how I perceive–and certainly discuss–the world around me to this degree.

So because I have this creative and social drive to share and make links I can find again to, well, share, I'm putting the video here on this blog. And I'm going to pay greater attention again to how I talk to my kids, talk to myself, and think about this thing called life.
